Bernie Ecclestone has revealed that Barcelona and Valencia have agreed to share the Spanish Grand Prix from 2013 onwards.

Both circuits have said that alternating between the two venues could be a possibility, but Ecclestone said this week that a deal has been done for them to share a single slot on the calendar.

"Both Valencia and Barcelona have agreed that it is best to alternate, so now we are trying to choose the dates," he told Radio Valencia-Cadena Ser. "It's simply a way for us to try and help Valencia and if by alternating with Barcelona it helps them, then it's a good solution. Obviously, the year Valencia does not host the event it would not have to pay anything."

There were rumours Valencia had yet to pay the race fee for this year's race, but Ecclestone said everything is now sorted.

"All is well and everything is paid," he added. "There is no doubt there will be Formula One at Valencia on June 24."
