England, Ireland and France enjoyed victories on the opening weekend of the Six Nations, and their leading lights unsurprisingly also yielded the best return in the vital exchanges of ESPNscrum's Fantasy Rugby.

England's 30-17 victory over Wales at Twickenham brought a smile to the face of Martin Johnson and also to anyone who had selected one James Haskell in their back-row.

The Stade flanker picked up two tries and the Man of the Match award for a cool 18 points, with Danny Care scoring England's other try and Jonny Wilkinson slotting 15 points. In red, the surprise package was a try to tight-head Adam Jones, who finished with eight points, while James Hook ticked the boxes with a try from outside-centre.

David Wallace was the man to watch in Irish colours as they downed a poor Italian side 29-11 at Croke Park, the Munster flanker securing 10 points thanks to his assist in Jamie Heaslip's try and the Man of the Match award.

Tomas O'Leary bagged a debut Test try and Ronan O'Gara kicked 16 points for the reigning champions, while anyone who took a risk on wing Kaine Robertson was rewarded when he charged down Rob Kearney's kick for Italy's try.

At Murrayfield, France were in commanding mood as they defeated Scotland 18-9. Mathieu Bastareaud was the outstanding centre of the weekend with his brace of tries securing 12 game points, with No.8 Imanol Harinordoquy nipping at his heels after a monstrous performance.

The Biarritz man picked up an assist and Man of the Match for 11 points, while all of Scotland's endeavour yielded only a hat-trick of penalties to Chris Paterson.
