Scotland international Scott Lawson has agreed to join London Irish next season.

The Gloucester hooker, who has won more than 30 caps for Scotland, has signed a two-year contract with the Exiles and will link up with his the Premiership club for the start of the 2012/13 season. Lawson is currently with Scotland as they prepare for their Six Nations clash with France at Murrayfield on Sunday.

The 30-year-old, who started his professional career with Glasgow Warriors, has made more than 80 appearances so far for Gloucester in his four years with the club.

Lawson said: "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Gloucester and am sad to leave. However, I am delighted to be moving to London Irish, it's a great opportunity for me to progress my game further. Like Gloucester, their supporters are very passionate about their club and I am looking forward to be playing in front of them at Madejski Stadium next season."

London Irish head coach Toby Booth said: "Scott is an excellent signing for London Irish and will bring with him a wealth of both Premiership and international experience. He is a reliable set piece operator and lively in the loose. He is a fantastic addition to our squad."
