Gareth Steenson and Brett Sturgess have both signed new two-year deals with the Exeter Chiefs.

Fly-half Steenson and prop Sturgess, both of whom helped the Chiefs win promotion to the Premiership, have agreed to extend their contracts at Sandy Park.

Exeter have now re-signed 12 players this season and head coach Rob Baxter is delighted the latest duo have committed their futures to the club.

"Brett and Gareth have signed on so we are starting to get through the bones of a team, and what we have got together for next year is already looking pretty solid," said Baxter.

"What we have to do now is pin down the last few guys we want to from the current squad, then make sure the guys we want to bring in are there for us and that we work hard on getting them in. Right now, though, I am pretty comfortable with where we are."
