Leicester Tigers have bolstered their options in the centres bringing in Terrence Hepetema from the Waratahs.

The centre could turn out against the Warriors on Sunday in the Tigers' Aviva Premiership opener with Matt Smith, Anthony Allen and Manu Tuilagi all reportedly ruled out. Hepetema arrives at the club after seeing his short-term deal with the Australian Rugby Union come to an end.

"Terrence spent time with the Waratahs at the end of last season and he is a big lad who will just keep getting bigger and stronger," Cockerill told the Leicester Mercury. "He has come over here because the opportunity has arisen with the injuries we have had in the centres.

"He has all the traits that you would expect from someone with Maori heritage and is, in some respects, a bigger version of Dan Bowden. He is a midfielder who can play at inside or outside-centre, and it will be interesting to see how he develops."
