London Irish draft in Ian Gough

London Irish have added to their second-row resources with the signing of veteran Ian Gough.

Gough has huge experience at Test level having won 64 caps for Wales and he will move to the Madejski Stadium from the Ospreys. He left the Welsh region in September with both parties agreeing to the departure.

The 36-year-old previously played for Pontypridd, Newport and then Newport Gwent Dragons with his last Wales appearance in 2009.

"It's great to have a player of the stature and experience of Ian on board," Irish rugby director Brian Smith said. "He is a proven Test forward and has been exceptional at the set-piece and the breakdown area throughout his career.

"His presence and influence around the training ground will be massive."
