Loose forward Brad Shields has extended his allegiance with the Hurricanes and Wellington Lions for another two years.

The 23-year-old has signed with the Lions until the end of the 2015 season, and the Hurricanes club through to 2016.

Shields said he was looking forward to continuing his involvement with both teams.

"I know that I'm going to be part of something special for another couple of seasons. It's exciting times for both teams at the moment, and I certainly want to be a part of it."

Shields made his debut for the Hurricanes against the Stormers in Cape Town in 2012, and first ran on for the Lions against Hawke's Bay in 2010.
