The Western Force may have lost in South Africa, but their industrious No 8 Ben McCalman has regained the lead in the Greg Growden Medal. The Force were overwhelmed by the Stormers in Cape Town, but one of the few visitors to hold up was McCalman, who has snuck past Waratahs flanker Michael Hooper.

One of the biggest movers was Brumbies scrum-half Nic White, who was a standout in their loss to the Cheetahs, while No 10 Matt Toomua continued his consistent form to move into fourth spot.

While Colby Fainga'a and Luke Burgess impressed in their controversial win over the Reds in Brisbane. Several Rebels stars impressed, but only two Reds stars received points for the side's poor form.

It is a congested leader board, with countless players having the chance to win the award for the Australian province's best and fairest player.
