Fullback Luke Morahan has praised the rugby atmosphere in Perth, claiming his move from the Queensland Reds to the Western Force is starting to pay dividends.

Morahan signed a two-year contract at the conclusion of 2013 to join the Force, and despite an agonising seven-week stint on the sidelines, believes the 2014 season has been a success.

"It's been quite different [to Queensland]. We've had a pretty good season and it's just been refreshing to learn from a few new people with different perspectives and styles," Morahan told ESPN. "There are a lot of guys from South Africa, from New Zealand and obviously Australia so you're always learning something new."

With the Super Rugby season now over, Morahan has been playing with the Perth Spirit in the National Rugby Championship (NRC), and has enjoyed the experience of Australia's newest rugby competition.

"It's a fantastic standard of rugby. It's been really entertaining and the high amount of tries from attacking rugby is really impressive," Morahan said. "You only need to look at our last game against the Sydney Stars where we scored nine tries. That just doesn't normally happen."

The 24-year-old is also confident that the NRC will help foster talent that previously may have been overlooked or not given adequate opportunity at Super Rugby level.

"It's really a positive step forward for Australian rugby as it's bridging the gap between club and Super Rugby," he said. "There's going to be a lot of new players coming through in the coming years."

For Morahan and the other Force players the focus now is to tweak the backline in order to hit the ground running in 2015 when they face-off against defending champions the New South Wales Waratahs.

"We really want to work on taking our backline to the next level. We've almost got a full Super Rugby backline out there so it's a good opportunity to try a few new things and gain some experience playing together."

With one Wallabies cap to his name, Morahan is using that brief experience to spur him on and admits he hasn't put a line through the possibility of returning to Australia's national team.

"I wouldn't rule out [playing at the 2015 World Cup]. Having played there before I know I can do it and believe I can get back to that level."

The Spirit and Morahan will be looking to record back-to-back wins for the first time this season when they play Queensland Country at home on Saturday the October 4.
