Ospreys number eight Dan Baker has escaped serious injury after being carried off during Sunday's 42-7 rout of Treviso.

Baker had been taken straight to Morriston Hospital after taking a bang to the head and complaining of neck pain, but was discharged later on the same evening.

An update from the team on Monday evening said: "Ospreys medics have confirmed that Dan Baker suffered 'no serious injury' in Sunday's win over Benetton Treviso."

The statement added that "other than soft tissue damage he sustained no serious injury".

Baker, who has been capped twice by Wales, will sit out Saturday's game against Northampton Saints but is expected to return to action soon.
