Harlequins have secured the services of young English trio George Merrick and brothers Ross and James Chisholm until June 2017, with all three signing contract extensions.

Merrick and Ross Chisholm are in the senior squad, while 19-year-old James Chisholm is in his second season with the Academy.

Lock Merrick has been with the club since 2011 and said: "I'm really pleased to have re-signed with Quins. It's the team that I had always wanted to play for when I was growing up, so to have extended my time is really exciting. I'm looking forward to the challenges ahead, while pushing for more senior game time."

24-year-old full-back Ross Chisholm has made 46 appearances for the club despite a string of injuries.

I'm really happy to have re-signed with Harlequins," he said. "It wasn't a difficult decision at all and it's great to have James at the club too" 25 year-old Ross said. "There is a real core group of young talent here at Harlequins and I have a brilliant opportunity to progress with them all and take this great club forwards."

James Chisholm joined the club in 2013 and has made seven senior appearances and won the Junior World Cup with England in New Zealand last summer.

"I've really enjoyed my time so far with Harlequins and I'm really excited to have re-signed for another two years," James said. "I'm looking forward to developing alongside the great back-row talents we have here at Harlequins and eventually be in a position to battle it out with them for a regular starting place.

"Signing alongside Ross is great too, to be in this environment with him is important as we love playing and training together; I'm looking forward to what the coming years will bring."

Harlequins Academy Manager Tony Diprose said: "We are really pleased to have secured George, Ross and James here for a further two years. All three players are incredibly exciting young talents and I am looking forward to seeing how they develop in the coming years."
