World Cup final: The All Blacks desperately want two in a row

Wallabies prop Scott Sio insists he's 100% fit for Saturday's Rugby World Cup decider against the All Blacks.

Sio was the only real injury concern for Australia ahead of the final after he missed last Sunday's semi-final win over Argentina with an elbow injury. But the Brumbies prop was on Thursday named in the Wallabies' starting side with James Slipper dropping back to the bench in the only change to the 23.

"Yeah I'm good to go; I went through training yesterday," Sio said. "I think the biggest thing is being honest with myself and being honest with the team, giving myself the best chance possible.

"And I told them if you wanted to select me I was willing to go, I was going to give my 100% for the team and, you know, very humbled by the opportunity to do this game on Saturday."

Sio's inclusion is a massive boost for a Wallabies side that struggled badly at scrum-time against the Pumas.

Slipper was penalised three times by referee Wayne Barnes when, earlier in the tournament, it was the Wallabies pack dishing our set-piece punishment.

Sio said it was tough sitting back and watching last week's match but also knew that if his team-mates could get the job done, he was confident he would right for the final.

"I think last week it was a bitter pill to swallow not being able to take part in that semi-final knowing from a physical point of view knowing that you had no effect on that game," he said. "You know that could have been the end of it for us.

"But to be given this opportunity again is huge for myself and it's something that I won't take for granted because at the end of the day we're representing Australia, the Wallabies family and my family as well; you know how proud they are of me and they're the ones I think of most when I'm out there."

The Wallabies will have a final captain's run on Friday morning, giving Sio one final chance to put his elbow to the test.

"I think you've got to know that there's a process towards things and if you're good to go, you're good to go," he said of working through the injury. "Only you will know that, so if you say that you've got to say that with 100% belief and commitment. You can't half-arse things - sorry about my words there - but that's the nature of this environment."
