Mark Wilson scored a first-half hattrick and Marcus Watson claimed four tries as Newcastle Falcons eased to a 55-7 victory against Enisei-STM in the European Challenge Cup on Sunday.

Newcastle, who earned their first point of the campaign in their defeat in Brive, moved into second in pool one with the emphatic win.

Newcastle's victory over the Russian champions, who are making their European Challenge Cup debut this season, ended their nine-game losing run.

No.8 Wilson completed his treble within half an hour after scoring his first try after 15 minutes and additional scores from Kibirige and Watson had the hosts 29-7 ahead at the break.

Watson ran riot after the interval with further tries in the 46th, 74th and 78th minutes. Tom Catterick kicked five conversions.
