Scotland are monitoring Alex Dunbar's fitness and have added two players to the squad ahead of their Six Nations opener with England.

Prop Alex Allan (Glasgow Warriors) and back-row Hamish Watson (Edinburgh Rugby) joined up with the team on Sunday. Allan's only cap for Scotland came against the USA in 2014 while Watson has two to his name with both coming in 2015.

Scotland will be paying close attention to Dunbar after he suffered a mild posterior thigh strain in Glasgow Warriors' 22-5 win over Racing 92 at Rugby Park in the European Champions Cup, and will require ongoing assessment and treatment. Fellow Warriors centre Mark Bennett continues to make good progress on the shoulder injury he sustained against Racing 92 in Paris earlier this month.
