Ireland Wolfhounds rebounded from last weekend's big loss to Scotland 'A' with a deserved 20-11 victory over a strong England Saxons side at Ravenhill on Friday night.

Tries from Munster wing Denis Hurley and Ulster No.8 Chris Henry proved the difference for the home side, with fly-half Ian Humphreys also landing 10 points on his home ground.

Northampton playmaker Stephen Myler kicked two penalties for the visitors but failed to convert a try from former British & Irish Lions winger Ugo Monye.

Scotland 'A' were also in action on Friday and secured a trio of wins with a hard-fought 11-3 triumph against Italy 'A' at a rain-swept Netherdale.

Heading into the game on the back of victories over the United States and Ireland Wolfhounds, the Scots went in at half-time 8-0 up thanks to Ryan Grant's early try and a David Blair penalty.

Another Blair penalty after the break stretched the hosts' lead, before Tito Tibaldi finally got the Italians on the scoreboard with a penalty of his own.
