Guy Armitage has confirmed that he will join Top 14 big spenders Toulon on a three-year deal.

The younger brother of Delon and Steffon Armitage will link up with former London Irish flanker Steffon at the Top 14 side. Question marks still surround the future of Delon with Toulon rumoured to be looking to complete a hat-trick of Armitage signings.

Guy Armitage represented England at the 2011 Junior World Championships and will be able to turn out for France if called upon. The 20-year-old said: "Leaving London Irish after six years has been a really tough decision. I'd particularly like to thank Neal Hatley who has supported me without fail throughout my time here. It has been great working with him and Justin Bishop in the Academy set-up at Sunbury.

"Moving to France for three years will be a huge challenge but one I feel I'm prepared to take on. The opportunity to develop further with Bernard Laporte - alongside Jonny Wilkinson, Matt Giteau and Mathieu Bastareaud - is one I felt I couldn't pass up."

Neal Hatley, London Irish Academy Manager, added: "We are disappointed that Guy will moving on at the end of the season but we fully understand the strong lure of playing alongside family. It has been fantastic to see him develop as a player throughout his years at London Irish and we wish him all the very best for the future."
