Bosch: South Africa 'broke' us

Argentina centre Marcelo Bosch has admitted his side were "broken" by South Africa in their Rugby Championship opener on Saturday.

The Pumas crashed to a record 73-13 defeat in Johannesburg as the Boks ran riot crossing for nine tries. It was a demoralising experience for a team many predicted to improve on their return of one draw from six games in last year's inaugural tournament.

This weekend sees the Pumas taking on South Africa in Mendoza and Marcelo Bosch, who started at No.13 for Argentina on Saturday, is keen to put their horror show to one side and seeks some improvement this weekend.

"We were totally broken by South Africa in all sectors of the game, a lot in attack, in defence, in strategy, in the drive," Bosch said. "We need to get a bit better in everything, enter the field with conviction, enter with more confidence in our arms and at least hope to have a good game. And above all else leave the field with our heads held high, knowing that we gave the best we could."

Agustin Creevy came off the bench in the 54th minute on Saturday, by which time the game had gone with his side 38-6 down. He also believes they will improve this weekend and says they must match the Boks' physicality.

"South Africa is a team that I don't think I can describe in three words," Creevy said. "But the truth is, there's a roughness, a great game and above all else they are very strong. This is the most important in points of contact."
