Leicester Tigers have been hit with yet another injury with Dan Bowden facing eight to 12 weeks on the sidelines.

Bowden has suffered "multiple fractures of his cheekbone and eye socket" and will be out until February at the earliest, but the Tigers, who have suffered a host of injuries this season, will be able to call on Anthony Allen for the weekend's match against Bath at Welford Road.

TIgers boss Richard Cockerill admitted Bowden's injury was a blow but is looking forward to seeing Allen back in action, who has missed the last three months with compartment syndrome.

"I am bitterly disappointed for Dan and for us because he was playing so well," Cockerill told the Leicester Mercury. "Our luck continues.

"But Anthony is fit to play and will be in the 23. We lose one and gain one. When the power in Ant's leg got back to normal, he was ready to go and it is key for us to have Ant back in the mix."
