Henry speaks about 'scary few weeks'

Flanker Chris Henry has spoken about the health problems that have sidelined him since the morning of Ireland's opening autumn international against South Africa.

Henry suffered a blocked blood vessel in his brain that caused him to have a Transient Ischaemic Attack - or mini stroke - just hours before he was due to line up in Joe Schmidt's team to play the Springboks on November 8. Naturally Henry was withdrawn from that game and it was subsequently revealed that he had a hole in his heart that had caused the mini stroke.

"It's been a scary few weeks to be honest but I feel very lucky that I was in that environment and getting such incredible medical expertise so quickly," Henry told his club Ulster's official website.

"They got to the bottom of things swiftly and I think that's the most important thing; when something like that happens, the unknown is the scary thing and to have clarity on what was going on and having the problem fixed so quickly - for me, I feel very lucky."

Henry is back in training and targeting a return in time for next year's World Cup.
