The undefeated Stormers have received further good news this week with lock Eben Etzebeth cleared to make his first start of the season.

The towering Springboks forward missed the entirety of last year's Super Rugby season and then picked up a chest injury in the pre-season this year, delaying his return to the field.

But he has been given the green light for this weekend's clash with the Sharks in Cape Town where the Stormers will be looking to make it four wins from as many matches. And in another major boost, veteran flanker and former captain Schalk Burger is also an outside chance to face the Sharks.

Burger wrapped up his Japanese commitments at the weekend and is on his way home to South Africa for yet another Super Rugby season. Coach Allister Coetzee will assess Burger later in the week though it may be he gives the 31-year-old forward a week off and holds him back for what will likely be a top-of-the-table clash with the Chiefs in Cape Town in round five.
