Euan Murray has announced his retirement from international rugby, Scotland's most-capped tight-head prop who never played on Sundays for religious reasons calling time having won 66 caps in a 10-year period.

With wife Sarah now expecting their third child, Murray decided to step aside to allow head coach Vern Cotter time to make plans for his replacement for the Rugby world Cup.

"I have to be with my family as much as possible before and after the birth," Murray said.
