The Sharks have continued their impressive recruitment drive ahead of next season with the signing of Cheetahs prop Coenie Oosthuizen on a four-year deal.

The Springboks front-rower will join Waratahs back-rower Jacques Potgieter and Cheetahs team-mate Willie le Roux in Durban as the Sharks look to rebuild after a poor 2015 season where they finished in 11th place on the Super Rugby ladder.

"I am pleased that Coenie has taken up our offer to play his rugby in Durban," Sharks coach Gary Gold said. "He is an exceptional player who boasts surprising pace and is known for his strong runs and work rate around the park. His experience will prove invaluable to our team ambitions going forward."

Oosthuizen, who's played 21 Tests for South Africa, said he was looking forward to a fresh start at the Sharks.

"It is a great privilege for me to sign with the Cell C Sharks," he said. "This is a new chapter in my career and I am looking forward to this exciting opportunity in Durban."
