The flood of post-season movement has continued at the Sharks with lock Pieter-Steph du Toit confirming his immediate exit from the franchise.

Du Toit's departure has been tempered by news Springboks flanker Marcell Coetzee has extended his stay in Durban, the back-rower signing on for a further two years. The Sharks also recently announced the signings of Cheetahs players Willie le Roux and Coenie Oosthuizen.

Du Toit's departure comes after he endured two injury-marred seasons and the lock said life after rugby had been a big factor in his decision to leave Durban.

"This was the hardest decision of my life. The Sharks have always been good to me and if it was not for what the province has done for me I would never have been able to achieve from rugby what I have to date," du Toit said. "For this, I will be forever grateful. My decision is one that has a specific focus now already for my life after rugby and also my family. Thank you to every Sharks employee and fan for the privilege I have had to be part of your family. All of you will always remain dear to me."

Coetzee's extension, meanwhile, sees the Sharks retain some valuable experience in the pack with brothers Bismarck and Jannie Du Plessis having already played their final Super Rugby games. Coetzee has been granted the opportunity to play in Japan during the Currie Cup however, meaning he may miss the opening games of the next two Super Rugby seasons.

"I am delighted to extend my contract with the Cell C Sharks," Coetzee said. "My schooling career was completed in KZN (Kwa-Zulu Natal) and all of my professional rugby played to date has been with this province. Growthpoint Kings Park has been my home and I look forward to contributing to the success of the team for many years to come."
