KINGSHOLM -- Georgia head coach Milton Haig believes he will have no problem motivating his side before their next Rugby World Cup test against New Zealand, despite a thumping defeat at the hands of Argentina.

Haig's side, who defeated Tonga in their opening Pool C game last weekend, were brought back down to earth with a bang as the Pumas ran riot with a seven-try victory in Gloucester. Lelos captain Mamuka Gorgodze was yellow-carded early in the second half and Argentina took full advantage of the extra man, running in three tries in 10 minutes.

"Everyone is disappointed in the dressing room because they know they let themselves down in the second half," Haig said in his post-match press conference at Kingsholm. "But our goal is to qualify automatically for Japan 2019 and we're still on target for that. We're still where we want to be and that is something we need to focus on.

"I'm pretty proud of how we played, certainly in the first half and in patches in the second. We came up against a side that was desperate to win. They're a quality side.

"One week you celebrate, the next you get brought back down to earth pretty quickly. It's about us assessing what went wrong today and learning from the positives."

Georgia face the All Blacks in Cardiff next week in what will be the first ever Test meeting between the two nations.

"Next week we play the defending champions and the best team in the world," Haig added. "That's something we've never done -- it won't take much to motivate the boys. That's the pinnacle of everybody's career, playing the All Blacks at a World Cup. We've got plenty of things to look forward to. It's about reinforcing that in the next couple of days and moving forward."
