Ollie Devoto is in no rush to decide his future as he weighs up a new contract offer from current club Bath.

The versatile back will become a free agent when his current deal at the Rec expires at the end of the season, and Exeter Chiefs are understood to be leading a host of other Premiership clubs interested in his signature.

Premiership rules dictate that clubs are not allowed to hold talks with Devoto until January but, with Leicester Tigers and Wasps also mooted as potential destinations, the 22-year-old will be taking his time to decide on the next phase of his career.

"We've offered Ollie a contract and he is going to wait until January to weigh up his options and make a decision," said head coach Mike Ford told the Bath Chronicle.

Devoto is competing with England internationals Kyle Eastmond and Jonathan Joseph for a spot in the Bath midfield, but his desire to earn more game time and represent his country could see him tempted elsewhere.

"We're trying to impress on him that this is the best place for him," Ford added. "He's competing against the likes of Kyle, but if trains well every day and we're winning, he can get selected for a top-four Premiership side and then the chances of England selection are greater."
