All Blacks centre Malakai Fekitoa has opened up on his issues with anger.

Fekitoa, who has 13 caps for New Zealand, posted a lengthy statement on his Instagram page to his 173,000 followers in which he called for those facing similar struggles to ask for help.

"I've got a huge problem with anger. I don't handle some situation very well on and off the field," Fekitoa wrote. "I get really angry sometimes and flip out so I would like to Apologize publicly to any of you if I ever said something really hurtful to you at home, on the field and through social media."

Fekitoa, who has been named in the Highlanders team to play the Crusaders in the Super Rugby pre-season match "in a farmer's front paddock" at Waimumu, was part of the New Zealand side that won the 2015 Rugby World Cup.
