Horan to miss three Tests

Tim Horan's international swansong goes from bad to worse with scans revealing a serious foot injury will keep him out of Australia's next three Tests.

A visit to a Brisbane specialist today confirmed the champion centre had sustained serious ligament damage during Saturday's 53-6 victory against Argentina at Ballymore.

Horan is expected to be out for four to six weeks and is unlikely to be available for selection until the second Tri-Nations Test against South Africa in Sydney on July 29. The game is the Wallabies' final home Test of the year.

He will miss Saturday's return Test against Argentina in Canberra; the Mandela Cup against South Africa at Melbourne's Colonial Stadium on July 8; and finally the opening Tri-Nations and Bledisloe Cup clash against New Zealand at Sydney's Stadium Australia on July 15.

However, Horan is hopeful he will be available for the Bledisloe Cup Test.

"It's exactly the same injury as I had at the start of the season except it's on the other foot," Horan said. "With that injury I was able to come back in the fourth week and that would have me ready for the Sydney Test against the All Blacks."
