Castres centre Phil Christophers has been cited following an alleged gouging incident in last weekend's Heineken Cup clash with London Wasps.

The citing against former England international Christophers is for, "alleged contact with the eye/eye area" of Wasps' No.8 Joe Worsley in contravention of Law 10.4 (k).

The citing was lodged outside the 50-hour citing window by the Citing Commissioner, Eddie Walsh (Ireland). The game was not televised live and he was unable to complete his review within the citing window.

The request will therefore be reviewed by Professor Lorne Crerar, Chairman of the independent Disciplinary Panel, who will determine whether the citing should go forward to an independent Disciplinary Committee.

Wasps won the match 25-11 and travel to Leinster on Saturday while Christophers has been named in Castres' side to face Edinburgh the same day.
