Tiatia keen to extend his stay with Ospreys

Ospreys veteran No.8 Filo Tiatia has declared an interest in a coaching role with the region when he finally hangs up his boots.

The 37-year-old former All Blacks international, who joined the region in 2006 after spells with Wellington and the Hurricanes in New Zealand and Toyota Verblitz in Japan, has already taking on some coaching duties.

"I'm doing a bit of coaching at the moment with the academy within the Ospreys," Tiatia told Scrum V. "And if the opportunity does arise, come up, then yeah I'll take it with two hands."

The formidable backrow forward helped steer the Ospreys to Magners League glory in 2006-07 and was also part of the side that claimed the EDF Energy Anglo-Welsh Cup crown in 2007-08.

"I'm really enjoying it, I lived in Japan for four years and just experiencing different cultures and different living experiences," Tiatia added. "And I think coming to Wales, it's sort of broadened my horizon a little bit more and I guess, you know, when I do hang up my boots - and it'll be pretty soon I'm imagining - and I'll be telling everybody it's part of my history.

"I've lived in a great country, surrounded by great people, but also trying to create a legacy here as well within this organisation, the Ospreys."
