The Scarlets have parted ways with scrum-half Sililo Martens by mutual consent. Martens joined the Magners League side from Sale Sharks following the departure of Dwayne Peel in the summer of 2008 and has since made 15 appearances for the region.

Martens, a Tonga and Pacific Islanders international, made his debut against Bath last August and had his final run in a Scarlets shirt during their win over the Barbarians at Parc y Scarlets on January 31.

"I wish the Scarlets all the best for the coming years," said Martens. "With the squad they have and their new stadium they have a big chance to build a great future. I thank the Region for all they've done for me and thank my team-mates and fans for all their goodwill and support.

"I'm now talking to a couple of clubs about playing contracts for next season and will also be able to spend important time on pursuing my own business ventures."
