The Chiefs have strengthened their prospects for the inaugural Super Rugby season by confirming the re-signing of four young players on Tuesday. Waikato representatives Toby Smith and Tawera Kerr-Barlow, Counties-Manukau fullback Tim Nanai-Williams and North Harbour prop Ben Afeaki have all re-signed for the Chiefs. Nanai-Williams, 21, the youngest squad member of this year's Chiefs squad, has been signed through to the end of the 2012 competition. Prop Smith, also 21, was called into the Chief's squad this year from the wider training group due to injury, while Afeaki will look to build on the promising start he made for the team in 2010. Halfback Kerr-Barlow, 20, has been promoted from the franchise's wider training group. © ESPN Sports Media Ltd.
