All Blacks centre Sonny Bill Williams is reportedly set to return to the boxing ring in an effort to raise funds for the Christchurch earthquake relief effort.

Rugby Heaven reports that the Crusaders midfielder is lining up a bout in June, to be staged in Auckland.

Williams is set to donate NZ$100,000 and Sky their share of the pay-per-view sales to the ongoing efforts following the 6.3 magnitude quake.

Williams last fought on January 29, beating Australian Scott Lewis on points, while he holds previous knockout victories over Ryan Hogan and Gary Gurr.

The former Kiwis international raised eyebrows in New Zealand with his last bout, which preceded the Super Rugby season, and despite his intentions there will again be fears for his fitness given the proximity to the Rugby World Cup.

Williams' fights have the blessing of the New Zealand Rugby Union (NZRU), with his contract believed to contain clauses allowing for two contests in 2011 - the first of which was against Lewis.
