Pocock waits on knee scan

Australia and Western Force flanker David Pocock will learn on Monday the extent of a knee injury which he suffered during the Force's 39-12 defeat to the Sharks.

The Wallabies star limped off early in Saturday's clash and was put in a leg brace after the game, prompting fears of a lengthy absence with the Super Rugby season in its infancy and the World Cup just six months away.

The 22-year-old went for scans on Sunday and will get the results on Monday, as will Western Force centre Mitch Inman, who suffered a serious elbow injury during the game. Force coach Richard Graham predicted that Inman could be out for two to three weeks with a dislocated elbow.

The Force also suffered the blow of Inman's replacement Rory Sidey being sent-off for a dangerous tackle on Sharks wing Odwa Ndungane soon after taking the field. He has been cited for the tackle and could face a ban, which would further deplete the Force's reserves.
