Australian fly-half Quade Cooper's future is shrouded in uncertainty after he vented his frustration over Robbie Deans' tactics and the Australian Rugby Union on Twitter.

The mercurial fly-half is currently sidelined with a knee injury and while he has penned a new deal with the Reds, it is yet to be ratified by the ARU. He has recently suggested that he is keen on playing alongside Sonny Bill Williams in the future with the former All Black currently turning out in Japan before switching back to rugby league and he backed this up with a Tweet which said "I want to play with @SonnyBWilliams".

The idea of him switching to league was also alluded to with one of his Tweets reading: "Might (sic) thoughts on rugby now is who's playing ... my thoughts on other codes how the f***do we get tickets !!"

And his frustration with the ARU was also apparent in another Tweet which said: "I love rugby but there's s**t going on behind and above the players that effects the whole organisation! Happens at the reds few years back," with the last part referring to issues at the Queensland Rugby Union in the past.

These comments come after Cooper recently suggested that the Wallabies will lose fans and Tests if they continue to play in a conservative manner. "I know we're competing against a lot of other sports in this country," Cooper said last week. "If people want to go out there and play a boring brand of football then there's other guys they can pick to do that.

"I'd much rather go down swinging and throwing the punches to put yourself in a winning position than come out saying we kept it close."
