Video: Semi-naked Tanaka gate-crashes interview

A couple of Highlanders have taken television to awkward new levels with a semi-naked Fumiaki Tanaka gate-crashing teammate Joe Wheeler's interview on The Crowd Goes Wild.

Wheeler was speaking with hosts Mark and Andrew only for the Highlanders Japanese recruit to cosy up alongside him in nothing but his underpants.

To round out proceedings, utility back Marty Banks then appeared on the couch to complete one of the most awkward bits of television for some time.

The Highlanders face the Blues in Dunedin in Round 10 of Super Rugby on Saturday evening.
