London Irish have bolstered their ranks with the signing of promising tight-head Richard Palframan.

The 18-year-old arrives from the Sharks and the Exiles have described him as 'sensational'. At 6"1 and 118kg, Palframan already boasts an imposing frame and London Irish director of rugby Brian Smith is delighted with his new signing.

"He is an outstanding prospect," Smith said. "He is a very physical player and exceptionally good with ball in hand. He will work with Glenn Delaney to enhance his all round game and continue his progression. We believe we have real gem on our hands."

Palframan added: "I am very grateful to the Sharks for the opportunities they have given me, but the chance to join London Irish was too good to deny."
