ACT Brumbies coach Jake White believes his side still have plenty of improvement in them despite being undefeated after the first two rounds of Super Rugby.

The Brumbies made it two wins from as many starts in 2013 with an impressive 30-13 victory over the Rebels in Melbourne on Friday and now find themselves on top of the Australian Conference. But White says his players will continue to gel as the season progresses and that should lead to plenty of improvement in the run in to the finals.

"This is the second game of the season and a lot of players are playing well, but at the end of the day it is about getting those combinations together," White said. "We are not going to get ahead of ourselves and say this is a substandard performance, because to play like we did and to get the win is great. But I still think they can improve a lot. We still made some mistakes and as a coach you are never really happy because you are always looking for that perfect performance."

White believes his side have matured since last season, when they agonisingly missed out on a finals berth by losing their last game of the year to the Bulls.

"All the learning curves we got last year are all things we put in our memory bank," White said. "We came here (Melbourne) last year and the same thing happened. So those lessons were valuable when we got down here this weekend. We knew it wasn't going to be an easy game. They were always going to be up for it, they got a win last week and they were always going to test us out wide."

One player earning plenty of praise from White and those that have watched the Brumbies through the opening two rounds of the Super Rugby season is full-back Jesse Mogg. Mogg has three tries to his name through two games this campaign, with his five-pointer against the Rebels at AAMI Park a clear highlight for the Canberra-based side. The 23-year-old used his electrifying pace to sprint past James O'Connor and re-gather his own long kick, before touching down for a sensational solo try.

"I think Jesse must be one of the quickest players in Super Rugby now," White said after the match. "He runs 10.6m per second which is really fast for an outside back. It is fast for any player."

White believes Wallabies selection might not be too far away for Mogg.

"He is getting more and more confident now and as soon as it is a foot race he backs himself," White said. "Last week he got outside Digby (Ioane) and scored and tonight he got outside James and scored. I think the more he appreciates how good he is and how quick he is the better he is going to become. I am sure he can (play for the Wallabies), you just have to make sure who he plays with."

"They would have to surround him with certain players that complement what he can do," White added. "To be two games into the season and to have his name in lights in the last two weeks is fantastic for him."
