Former All Blacks coach Graham Henry is facing sanctions following his outburst after the Blues' 23-3 Super Rugby loss to the Crusaders on Saturday.

Henry, who is now assistant coach at the Blues, said that the TV match official was "probably a blind TMO" after two controversial rulings and added that a yellow card awarded to lock Culum Retallick for deliberately knocking down a pass was "bulls**t" and said it was "ludicrous" that wing Frank Halai wasn't awarded a penalty try in a separate incident.

Sanzar chief executive Greg Peters told NZ Newswire that action could yet be taken. "[The] comments are being considered by Sanzar as part of an established process for dealing with matters such as this." He declined to make any further comment.

But Lyndon Bray, the Sanzar game manager, said that "in both cases the referee did the right thing".

One of Henry's complaints was that Crusaders prop Wyatt Crockett "got away with murder" at scrum time. Bray responded that scrums remain a source of contention and it is difficult to tell who is at fault when front rows twist or collapse.
