Digby Ioane has made a winning start for Stade Francais, the former Queensland Reds and Australia winger playing 80 minutes on the right wing after six months on the sidelines with a shoulder injury sustained in the first Wallabies Test against the British & Irish Lions in June.

Stade defeated Perpignan 19-12 to record their third successive home win and move into second on the Top 14 ladder, six points behind leaders Clermont Auvergne but one point ahead of Castres. Ioane will hardly remember the match fondly, however, as it was anything but free-flowing and featured four yellow cards - including three to his Stade team-mates. Jerome Fillol kicked four penalty goals and converted a 31st-minute penalty try while James Hook kicked 12 points for Perpignan.

Ioane joined the Parisians in November after The Rugby Championship, but he had to abort a previous debut attempt, against Grenoble on December 20, due to persistent shoulder pain.
