Pierre Spies is targeting a Springboks recall but has also admitted he is keen on a move abroad in the future.

Spies is currently on the sidelines with a bicep injury but he has targeted the 2015 Super Rugby campaign as one where he hopes his side the Bulls will claim some silverware and also one where he will force his way back into the international reckoning. Injury has harmed his international prospects recently and he last played for the Boks in 2013 but with the World Cup a year away, Spies is optimistic of playing some part for South Africa.

Following a World Cup there is usually a fair amount of transfer activity and Spies' signature is likely to be sought after. He is open to a move abroad and Japan is his favoured destination.

"After the 2015 season, I'll be looking to do stint in Europe or Japan," Spies told MyPlayers.co.za. "I think I' d prefer Japan after speaking to some of my mates who have played there, like Fourie du Preez, Wynand Olivier and Jaque Fourie. They all love the Japanese culture and the strong work ethic the locals have over there.

"I'm also told that rugby is gaining plenty of popularity and respect in the Far East. I think that would be a great environment to be a part of looking ahead. If I play in Japan, there'll be the chance that I could play further roles for the Bulls during Super Rugby and the Springboks during the Test window."
