Willie le Roux will play for the Sharks from 2016, joining the Durban Super Rugby powerhouse from the Cheetahs.

Sharks chief executive John Smit hailed le Roux as "an excellent acquisition", saying the Springboks full-back was "a game-breaker who has shown on numerous occasions his class and ability to turn defence into attack".

"He will certainly strengthen and add great value to our backline," Smit said. "We are delighted that he has accepted our offer to ply his trade in Durban and look forward to welcoming him to the Sharks family."

Le Roux, capped 25 times for South Africa, has scored seven tries in Test matches and boasts a notable win record of 76% at international level.
