Van Niekerk to undergo knee surgery

Stormers loose forward Joe Van Niekerk will have a scope on his left knee tomorrow to treat injured knee cartilage, an injury that was aggravated in the game last Friday.

Medical opinion suggests that conservative treatment measures will not cure the injury and surgical intervention will provide the shortest recovery time.

Van Niekerk is expected to make a full recovery 3 weeks after the procedure. He will be assessed and rehabilitated and will potentially join the Vodacom Stormers team on tour for their last two games.
