Match report: Force too strong for Stormers
February 9, 2007

The Western Force bounced back from their narrow opening round defeat at the hands of the Highlanders last weekend to heap further woe on the Stormers.

Once again the hosts were made to pay for basic mistakes and for the second week running failed to cross for a try.

The Force broke the deadlock courtesy of the boot of Cameron Shepherd who slotted two penalties before the visitors gained further reward for their dominance with the game's only five-pointer.

Centry Ryan Cross was the beneficiary just after the half hour mark after he charged down an attempted clearance from Gio Aplon.

The conversion from Shepherd saw the visitors go into the break 13-0 up.

The elements combined against the Stormers after the break to make their task even tougher but it was their lack of creativity that was their downfall.

The Force were able to control the game and Shepherd was able to punnish the Stormers for their indiscipline with three further penalties.

The Stormers' only return came from a sollitary penalty courtesy of Naas Oliver.
