July 23, 2013

Southern Kings coach Alan Solomons has been heavily linked with the vacant head coach post at Edinburgh in the Scottish press.

Reports in the Edinburgh Evening News claim Solomons is the man chosen by the Edinburgh hierarchy to replace Michael Bradley who left last season. Solomons, who has had spells with the Stormers, Ulster and Northampton Saints, is currently concentrating on guiding the Kings through their Super Rugby playoff clash with the Lions that determines which franchise will get the nod in the premier southern hemisphere competition next season.

And his commitment to finishing the season with the Kings is the only hurdle left before the deal can be announced, according to the newspaper. News of Solomons' projected switch to Edinburgh is also featuring in the South African press with a report in the Cape Argus saying: "Although it has been officially denied by Solomons, it is understood he will be heading to Edinburgh later in the year."

When contacted by ESPN, Solomons did not comment on the link emphasising he was concentrating purely on the Super Rugby playoff.
