Bernard Foley will start opposite Benji Marshall when New South Wales Waratahs host the Blues in their high-profile Super Rugby pre-season trial at Allianz Stadium on Friday.

Waratahs coach Michael Foley has also named newcomers Kurtley Beale, Nick Phipps, Jono Lance and Matt Carraro in the starting XV to be captained by Dave Dennis. Israel Folau and Michael Hooper were not named in the starting side.

Waratahs: Kurtley Beale; Matt Carraro, Rob Horne, Jono Lance, Peter Betham; Bernard Foley, Nick Phipps Wycliff Palu, Pat McCutcheon, Dave Dennis (captain); Will Skelton, Kane Douglas; Paddy Ryan, Tatafu Polota-Nau, Benn Robinson. Replacements: To be confirmed.
