Wallabies hooker Nathan Charles has re-signed with the Western Force for the next two Super Rugby seasons.

Charles started every match for the Force this season, and his strong form was rewarded with a Wallabies debut in the three-Test series against France. The mobile rake came off the bench in two of those Tests, fulfilling his long-time dream to represent his country.

Charles has also been selected for the Wallabies' upcoming Rugby Championship, in which Australia will face off against Argentina, New Zealand and South Africa.

"Making my Test debut was a dream come true but I haven't satisfied what I want to achieve at that level," Charles said. "I'm really excited about making the squad for the Rugby Championship and I'll be working hard towards hopefully getting another opportunity during the series."

The Force only narrowly missed out on a maiden finals berth this season. Charles, who suffers from cystic fibrosis, said he's confident the Force has a bright future ahead.

"Next year will be my sixth year with the club and I'm very excited about the direction in which we're going," the 25-year-old said. "It's been great to be a part of this group. We're extremely tight, no-one thinks they're above anyone else and everyone is working hard and trying to push ourselves and each other further. From the outset, Foles (coach Michael Foley) has judged me as a Test player, which has held me to higher standards. I've also learned a lot from him from a technical point-of-view, which has also helped me reach the next level."
