The Chiefs remain unbeaten following a 40-16 win over the Crusaders (Australia only)

All Blacks star and reigning World Rugby Player of the Year Brodie Retallick is believed to have suffered a shoulder injury and could be out of action for up to two months.

Retallick left the field just 10 minutes into the first half of the Chiefs' 40-16 thrashing of New Zealand rivals, the Crusaders; the towering second-rower in some discomfort following a bruising tackle from two defenders.

Chiefs coach Dave Rennie later confirmed Retallick had suffered a suspected AC joint injury but wouldn't be drawn on a potential timeframe for recovery until scans had been conducted.

Retallick's injury was the only black spot on an otherwise perfect evening for the Chiefs, the two-time champions reinforcing their title credentials with their biggest ever win over the Crusaders. After missing last week's one-point win over the Brumbies, Sonny Bill Williams was quick to make an impact; the code-hopper scoring one try and playing a role in two others in the 24-win.

The Chiefs are at home again in round four against the Highlanders.
