Exeter skipper Dean Mumm has praised youngster Henry Slade and has tipped him to make an impact in the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

Slade has been one of the standout players this season and has played a key role in Exeter's impressive first half of the campaign. Slade, who can play at both fly-half and in the centres, has been on England's radar and has been tipped to make his Test debut sooner rather than later.

With England still weighing up their centre combination ahead of the Six Nations, Slade could get his chance and Mumm has tipped him for greatness.

"He [Slade] is more Dan Carter than Jonny Wilkinson in the way he can ghost around and ghost through gaps, but he has versatility," Mumm told The Times. "Not many 10s can play 13 with the conviction he has been able to do and he could play at full back, too.

"He is as talented a youngster as I have seen coming through. The guy who always had time and space was Stephen Larkham. It is a rare ability.

"Often you feel those people see the picture before it is drawn and they know what is coming up. In a fixed squad of 31 at a World Cup, it could be very handy having someone like Sladey filling those positions."
