Kurtley Beale redeemed himself after a dreadful first round to claim Australian Man of the Round honours with two excellent attacking moments against the Rebels - a chip and chase then a penetrating midfield run - that won the visitors the game.

Mike Harris, however, leads the Growden medal standings after a second strong performance for the Rebels.

The Waratahs and the Rebels combined for eight tries in Melbourne, but Lachie Turner scored the Australian try of the round in Brisbane. The Reds have been a long stagnant team but they got it together before half-time when, after regathering a kick, Chris Kuridrani, Chris Feauai-Sautia, Samu Kerevi, Will Genia and Turner combined for a quality 70-metre score.
