Racing 92 moved back to the summit of the Top 14 table with a dramatic 39-35 victory at Grenoble.

Racing were 35-24 down with 53 minutes on the clock, but late tries from Xavier Chaveau and Joe Rokocoko ensured the away side left with a victory. Fly-half Dan Carter weighed in with 14 points from the boot, while Racing's earlier tries came through Antonie Claassen and wing Juan Imhoff.

Loick Jammes and James Percival crossed for the home side, with Jonathan Wisniewski scoring seven penalties and two conversions from the tee.

Clermont Auvergne had moved level on points with Racing for a matter of hours thanks to a 28-17 win over Castres Olympique in Saturday's lunchtime kick-off.

Flip van der Merwe, Brock James and Sebastien Vahaamahina went over for Clermont, while James added two conversions and three penalties. Olympique's tries were scored by Remi Lamerat and David Smith, with Ben Urdapilleta added seven points with his boot.

Bordeaux-Begles moved fourth with a 24-19 home win over bottom of the table Agen. Sofiane Guitoune, Julien Rey and Sekope Kepu all crossed for the home side, with Pierre Bernard scoring nine points with the boot.

Arsene Nnomo went over on the hour mark for Agen, whose other points came from the boots of Clement Darbo and Burton Francis.

Colin Slade scored all of Pau's points as they earned a vital 19-16 victory at Montpellier. Marvin O'Connor went over for the hosts in the 40th minute before Benoit Paillaugue converted to add to his two earlier penalties.

However, Slade crossed the whitewash in the 69th minute and converted his own try which, combined with four penalties, was enough to see out victory.

La Rochelle hammered Toulouse 28-8 in Saturday's evening kick-off thanks to a kicking masterclass from Zack Holmes.

Holmes kicked eight penalties and one conversion as the home side dominated proceedings, with Romana Graham also crossing over in the seventh minute for their only try.

Paul Perez scored the visitors' only try which, combined with Tony Flood's sixth-minute penalty, meant they never got close.

On Friday, defending champions Stade Francais moved up to 10th thanks to a 32-17 win over Brive, who missed the chance to move into the top four.

Stade Francais' Morne Steyne's first half penalties sandwiched three from Gaeten Germain, the Top 14's leading point scorer, as Brive went in 6-12 up at the break.

Another Steyn kick shortly after half-time closed the gap to three before Guillaume Namy scored the first try of the match to stretch the visitors lead. But Stade took advantage of a yellow card for Fabien Sanconnie and ran over tries from Djibril Camara and Jeremy Sinzelle, before France centre Jonathan Danty completed the scoring.
